Veto Over 35s Football is a competition for over 35 and 45 footballers involving teams from the inner and northern suburbs of Brisbane. The competition’s maiden season was during autumn/winter in 2011.

The purpose of Veto Over 35s Football is to provide football players over 35 years of age with an opportunity to play local football, predominately on a Friday night in a relaxed, social environment with mates.
Games consist of 2 x 40 minute halves, with a 10 minute break between halves. A referee is appointed to control each game (no assistant referees are used) and referee’s fees form part of individual’s registration fees. Unlimited interchange is allowed.
Each team, when nominating for Veto Over 35s Football, pays a Nomination Fee of $100. Individual players register for a team, and in 2012 the fees will be $130 per player, or $2000 per team (no change from 2011). As part of the registration each team receives 2 free match balls.
In addition, most clubs charge players an additional fee (which is paid to their home club) for provision of field facilities, lights, ground maintenance etc.
Note that there is NO INSURANCE COVERAGE supplied in this league. Insurance is a matter for the individual.
